What is ASP and ASP.NET Hosting?

ASP stands for Active Server Pages which is a Server side technology geared towards web applications. It was created by Microsoft and is available only on Windows Servers. It is used to created dynamic (meaning changing depending on the input) content. To make the developement of such pages simpler, Microsoft created built-in objects for frequently-used functionality. The actual code can be written in VBScript (mostly used) and JScript.

ASP.Net is the lates version of ASP which is really a complete rewrite to support the .NET framework of Microsoft. Basically any .Net Programming language can be used to write the code for the ASP.Net pages. There are plenty of predefined classes for ASP.Net which makes developement relatively easy. The following Hosting Plans all support ASP up to 3.x and ASP.Net up to version 2.x.
